This is a social art piece that aims to raise awareness about PTSD and just how much our wounded warriors risk for our country. Many veterans are forgotten once they return home, wait months to see someone from the VA, are alienated from friends and family because “they are different,” and have a hard time reentering society. The soldier depicted in this painting also references veterans for who fight for our country, lose limbs, but still believe in America. As someone who suffers from PTSD I understand how much it impacts one’s life. I created a piece that calls attention to the fact that wounds can be visible by the eye or unseen. Nevertheless, we should not forget those who suffer.
